The Mississippi Headwaters Board (MHB) is a body mandated by the Minnesota Legislature to protect and preserve the natural, cultural, scenic, scientific, and recreational values of the Mississippi River's first 400 miles. Formed in 1980, MHB is a joint powers board made up of the first eight counties on the Mississippi River.

Upcoming Events

The Mississippi Headwaters Board meets the third Friday of each month, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Meetings are generally held at the Cass County Courthouse, Walker, MN. Due to occasional conflicts with scheduling, it may be necessary to adjust time and/or location, so please call in advance to verify. The tentative 2010 MHB meeting schedule is as follows:

JANUARY 15:* MHB Meeting, (Itasca County 2:00 pm)
